STAND Managing Committee Positions

Student Director
The Student Director is the national leader for STAND- fulfilled through overseeing the Managing Committee, public speaking engagements, and helping to develop overall strategies for STAND. This position comes with an optional fellowship in Washington, DC with the Genocide Intervention Network for the summer of 2009. - Learn more and apply

Programming Coordinator
The Programming Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the implementation of nationwide STAND programs, campaigns and events. The Programming Coordinator should provide input when planning national programming, keeping past STAND programs’ successes and challenges in mind. - Learn more and apply

High School National Outreach Coordinator
The High School National Outreach Coordinator (NOC) serves as the liaison between the STAND Managing Committee and the High School Outreach Team. The NOC's primary responsibility is to manage the team of High School Outreach Coordinators (OCs), comprised of High School Regional Outreach Coordinators (HiROCs), State Outreach Coordinators (HiSOCs) and the New Chapter Outreach Coordinator (NuCOC), and to collaborate with the High School Outreach team to implement all national STAND programming and campaigns. - Learn more and apply

College National Outreach Coordinator
The College National Outreach Coordinator (cNOC) serves as teh liaison between the STAND Managing Committee and the College Outreach Team. The cNOC's primary responsibility is to manage the team of College Outreach Coordinators (OCs), comprised of Regional Outreach Coordinators (ROCs), State Outreach Coodiantors (SOCs), and the New Chapter Outreach Coordinator (NuCOC) and their task force, and to collaborate with the College Outreach Team to implement all national STAND programming and campaigns. - Learn more and apply

International Outreach Coordinator
The International Regional Outreach Coordinator will work with the International Outreach Task Force to build and develop a strong network of STAND chapters outside of the United States. This position will require particularly strong vision, planning, creativity and self-motivation, along with a passion for the world abroad.- Learn more and apply

Technology Coordinator
STAND's Technology Coordinator will be responsible for translating what STAND does at the grassroots level to the World Wide Web. He/She will be responsible for the maintenance and development of STAND's cyber image and website. This position would serve as an active member of the STAND Managing Committee and provide input in STAND strategy, planning and development on whole. - Learn more and apply

Fundraising Coordinator
The Fundraising Coordinator (FC) will help chapters across the country raise money to put on events and campaigns on their campuses while working to raise funds for STAND at the national level.  In addition, FC will coordinate a national fundraiser and create tools and resources to help students fundraise. - Learn more and apply

Education Coordinator
The Education Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the distribution of information both internally – to STAND’s leadership team, and externally, to STAND’s membership. The EC oversees the Education Task Force, a group of conflict specialists. He/she will oversees the production of all educational materials for STAND - from instructional kits to talking points to hand-outs to news briefs, blog posts and national education calls. - Learn more and apply

Advocacy Coordinator
The Advocacy Coordinator plans and guides the policy-oriented elements of STAND activism. He/she will maintain a working knowledge of Darfur-related legislation and other relevant policy issues and translate this information into clear goals and strategies for student advocacy. - Learn more and apply

Communications Coordinator
The Communications Coordinator works to get STAND's message out to local and national audiences. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for managing the Communications Team, which garners media attention for STAND on all levels, from national campaigns to local school events. - Learn more and apply


Outreach Team

Regional Outreach Coordinators
Regional Outreach Coordinators (ROCs) are the primary liaisons between the grassroots of the anti-genocide movement and the decision making body of STAND. They are in constant and direct communication with individual STAND chapters in order to convey information and resources from the national level and serve as a support system for student activists in their region. - Learn more and apply

New Chapter Outreach Coordinators
The New Chapter Outreach Coordinator (NuCOC) is responsible for developing and strengthening new chapters in coordination with STAND's Outreach Team. They are in constant and direct communication with new STAND chapters and individual student activists in order to convey information and resources from the national level and serve as a support system for student activists in their region. The NuCOC is responsible for communicating chapter needs and the “New Chapter Perspective” to the STAND Managing Committee (MC) and collaborating with the MC through their NOC to translate those needs into the production of tangible resources for student activists.- Learn more and apply

Regional New Chapter Outreach Coordinators
Regional New Chapter Outreach Coordinators (RNCs) are the primary liaisons between the grassroots of the anti-genocide movement and the decision making body of STAND. They are in constant and direct communication with individuals interested in starting a STAND chapter on their campus. They also work to convey information and resources from the national level and serve as a support system for student activists in their region. RNCs are responsible for communicating chapter needs and the “New Chapter Perspective” to the STAND Managing Committee (MC) through the National New Chapter Outreach Coordinator (NuCOC) and their National Outreach Coordinator (NOC) while collaborating with their Regional Outreach Team to translate those needs into the production of tangible resources for student activists. They are charged with facilitating the development and growth of their region and work with the New Chapter Outreach Coordinator to promote regional progress as well.- Learn more and apply

State Outreach Coordinators
State Outreach Coordinators (SOCs) are the primary liaisons between the grassroots of the anti-genocide movement and the decision making body of STAND. They are in constant and direct communication with individual STAND chapters in order to convey information and resources from the national level and serve as a support system for student activists in their state. - Learn more and apply

Online Strategies

Webmaster
The Webmaster is in charge of maintaining the STAND website, creating new content, and thinking critically about how STAND uses its website to interact with the anti-genocide movement.  The Webmaster would be responsible for helping STAND use the website as effectively as possible. - Learn more and apply!

Advocacy

New Tactics Coordinator
STAND’s Advocacy team is looking for a New Tactics Coordinator to help us think outside the box of lobbying and other traditional advocacy tactics. Working primarily with STAND’s National Advocacy Coordinator, the New Tactics Coordinator would be responsible for helping STAND come up with creative ideas to leverage our use of advocacy.  - Learn more and apply!

Advocacy Training Coordinator

Education

Conflict Education Coordinators (Sudan, Burma, DRC)
Conflict Education Coordinators serve as the experts-in-residence for the STAND Leadership Team on their given conflicts. They are responsible for educating STAND’s leadership and membership, primarily through the creation of conflict-specific educational materials, and helping to inform STAND’s advocacy campaigns and programming pertaining to their particular conflict. We are currently hiring Conflict Education Coordinators to cover all three of STAND’s Areas of Engagement: Sudan, Burma, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. - Learn more and apply!

Conflict Education Coordinator (Areas of Concern)
Conflict Education Coordinators serve as the experts-in-residence for the STAND Leadership Team on their given conflicts. They are responsible for educating STAND’s leadership and membership, primarily through the creation of conflict-specific educational materials, and helping to inform STAND’s advocacy campaigns and programming pertaining to their particular conflict. The AoC Conflict Education Coordinator is responsible for covering those conflicts which may meet STAND and the Genocide Intervention Network’s (GI-NET) conflict selection criteria, but which are not currently targets for STAND and GI-NET’s advocacy or protection efforts. Fundraising

Development Team
STAND is looking for creative and ambitious students interested in development. This position will work with the National Fundraising Coordinator to find new and innovative ways to raise money for STAND national, as well as chapters, and will be essential to the success of our National Conference through assisting with sponsorship.  - Learn more and apply!

Student Events Coordinator (High School and College)
STAND is looking for students who have been excellent fundraisers at home and want to take their skills to the national level. Using your experience with fund raising events (big and small) you would act as a resource to chapters and the outreach team on event questions and campaign guidance. With your experience you will also be assisting the National Fundraising Coordinator with creative and engaging fundraising campaigns. - Learn more and apply!

Communications

Marketing Coordinator
The Marketing Coordinator will work closely with the Communications Coordinator to oversee STAND's marketing efforts. The Marketing Coordinator will oversee the STAND Marketing Team (including Messaging and Editing Specialist, Social Media Specialist, and Video Specialist) and ensure that STAND's message is being effectively communicated to our network. Media Coordinator
The Media Coordinator will work closely with the Communications Coordinator to oversee STAND's media relations. The Media Coordinator will oversee the STAND Media Team (including 7 Regional Media Coordinators) and ensure that STAND's message is being effectively communicated to the media. Regional Media Coordinators
Regional Media Coordinators, or RMCs, will be trained by the Media Coordinator to help answer all media-help requests for the assigned region. The RMC will also help edit media alerts, press releases, and be responsible for tracking media coverage in their region. - Apply Now

Messaging and Editing Specialist
The Messaging and Editing Specialist will be responsible for editing all STAND materials and messages, from educational one-pagers to conference agendas and action alerts. The Messaging and Editing Specialist will edit for the basics - grammar, spelling, word placement, etc. - as well as for message and style.  Applicants should have grammatical copy editing experience and have skill/interest in assisting STAND in maintaining stylistic and message consistency. - Apply Now

Social Media Specialist
The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for managing and developing content for the STAND Blog, as well as overseeing STAND's profiles on national social media networks. In addition, the Social Media Specialist will work with the Marketing Coordinator to develop Web 2.0 resources that would be useful to STAND chapters. Video Specialist
The Video Specialist will be responsible for developing viral video content in order to communicate STAND's message in new ways. The Video Specialist will work with the Marketing Coordinator (and the Managing Committee) to create important video content for STAND's campaigns and advocacy trainings. The Video specialist will also work with STAND chapters to create videocontent for their use. International

International Outreach Task Force
The International Outreach Task Force (IOTF) Members will be focused on supporting STAND chapters working around the world, and increasing the domestic understanding of and involvement with international STAND.
