Webmaster

STAND's webmaster will be responsible for translating what STAND does at the grassroots level to the internet. He/She will be responsible for the maintenance and development of STAND's online image and website. This position would report to the STAND Online Strategies Coordinator, who will represent them on the STAND Managing Committee.

General Duties:

  • Work to maintain STAND's website as the leading resource for student anti-genocide advocates and ensure that it remains as up to date as possible
  • Ensure to the greatest extent possible that STAND online materials promote and adhere to the organizational message
  • Develop the capabilities of STAND's website and related sites (such as STAND's blogs
  • Ensure STAND initiatives have strong web-oriented elements that serve as a resource for members by providing input on its online presence
  • Advise on content for website to ensure strong, clear, and consistent messaging
  • Format content submitted by the MC for STAND's website and ensure consistent tone
  • Think critically and creatively about ways to improve the STAND website and its representation of the organization

Accountability Obligations:

  • Communicate daily with the Online Strategies Coordinator via regular check-ins, emails, phone and/or online messaging
  • Manage and report results of analytics tracking to Online Strategies Coordinator regularly
  • Monitor the STAND website constantly to ensure functionality and report problems or needs to OSC and STAND staff

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in web design and web programming
  • Experience in website maintenance
  • Experience with open source content management systems (e.g. Drupal, Wordpress)
  • Proficiency in HTML
  • Creativity in web design
  • Ability to translate ideas and strategies into dynamic web tools
  • Strong communications skills
