Airport:
San Francisco International Airport (about 20 miles North of Stanford)
Driving: Take I280 S, Exit Alpine Rd, Turn right onto Junipero Serra, Turn left onto Campus Dr
Public Transit: Taking a shared van is the best option
San Jose International (about 15 miles South of Stanford):
Driving: Take 101 N, exit Oregon Expressway, Turn right onto El Camino Real, Turn Left onto Galvez St
Public Transit: Take Bus-10 (Metro/Airport) to Santa Clara Transit Center, Take Caltrain San Jose to San Francisco direction, Arrive at Palo Alto Downtown stop, take Marguerite lines A or B to campus
Bus information and lines:
Stanford Marguerite runs from campus to nearby locations. Lines A and B access Downtown Palo Alto and the downtown train station. Line C accesses California Ave train station.
Train Station:
Caltrain Palo Alto Downtown station is within walking distance of Stanford’s main entrance. California Ave Station is about 1.5 mi from campus. Caltrain runs from San Jose to San Francisco.
Parking at the University:
There is free parking anywhere at the university on weekends and after 4 pm on weekdays. Most convenient visitor parking is at Tresidder Student Union and on Galvez St. Click here for more information on parking.
