Information for Parents
What does the $15 registration fee go towards?
STAND will provide two meals, a snack, and a variety of conference materials. Registration fees also help STAND pay for the space rental and for the travel expenses incurred by our speakers and experts.
Where will my child be staying?
This will depend on the location of the chapter retreat that your child is attending. At some retreats, your child may stay with a college student host. To find out if this is an option at the location of your child’s chapter retreat, please access the tab for your local chapter retreat and click on the link titled “Important Retreat Details.” If he/she does not have or chooses to forgo this option, he/she is responsible for finding his/her own place to stay. Please access the tab for your local chapter retreat and click on the link titled “Travel, Hotels, and Restaurants” for hotel information.
High school students that are eligible for free housing and would like to be housed on-campus with a local college student must fill out a permission slip and have it mailed into the STAND office.
Will adults be supervising my child?
Although we expect all attendees to act responsibly at the chapter retreats, STAND is a student-run organization and cannot be held responsible for the actions of your son or daughter. Students under 18 are encouraged but not required to bring a chaperone in order to attend. For this reason, STAND cannot accept liability for any attendee’s actions or safety.
