Phase 3: Send a Wake-up call
You’ve given your voice, you’ve invited others to commit theirs as well and have demonstrated the power of that collective; so now it’s time to make that voice heard to the policy makers who can do something about it! The final phase of the campaign will involve direct advocacy through lobby meetings, call ins, op-eds and other creative approaches you and your chapter use to influence your Member of Congress and President Obama.

Phase 2: STAND out Loud
As citizen co-sponsors you garnered support in your own communities to help build a unified voice in the name of civilian protection in Sudan. Now it’s time to show the power of that voice and invite others into the fold. The focus of this phase will be to utilize the co-sponsorship opportunity to organize on your campus and in your community, building a stronger and louder network, and clearly demonstrate to policy makers the action we need them to take.

Phase 1: Add Your Voice
The first phase of the STAND’s “Sound the Alarm!” campaign asks you, your chapters, and your communities to become citizen co-sponsors of legislation that will call for civilian protection and prevention of mass atrocities in Sudan.

Our friends at Stop Genocide Now are hosting Darfuri town hall at 10:00 a.m. (EST) on Sunday, December 12 from a refugee camp in Chad. During this hour-long event, the iAct team will facilitate a conversation between Darfuris and activists around the world.
