This fall, STAND is partnering with WITNESS to incorporate video into our advocacy and amplify our efforts to push for a comprehensive US government strategy to prevent genocide and mass atrocities.

A coalition of anti-genocide advocacy organizations announced the launch of a new campaign called Sudan Now: Keep the Promise. The campaign will challenge President Barack Obama and top U.S. administration officials to live up to their campaign and political promises by taking strong and immediate action to help end the international crisis in Sudan and bring a lasting peace to the people of that country.

In 2004, STAND was created by everyday students who decided to act to end genocide in Dafur. Since then, their single effort has grown to a movement with over a thousand chapters around the world. This summer, YOU are going to continue this the growth they started by becoming one of the People Who Move the World. Over the coming summer, we will be profiling ordinary citizens who have done extraordinary things to help bring an end to genocide wherever and whenever it occurs.

This semester, re-energize your anti-genocide activism by attending a STAND Chapter Retreat. STAND is hosting day-long Chapter Retreats in 9 different states across the country.
Connect with other STAND students and chapters and learn from each other’s successes and challenges as activists.
Collaborate with other STAND leaders to organize your anti-genocide efforts for the rest of the semester.
STAND together to pressure the Obama administration to make Darfur a top priority.

Imagine if, where governments had failed, private donors had succeeded by jamming the radio towers in Rwanda that were inciting and guiding perpetrators during the 1994 genocide. On December 3, your STAND chapter can help do what we couldn’t do in Rwanda by taking action to protect civilians.

This November, citizens will be presented with the biennial opportunity to evaluate their congressional candidates. STAND students, you among them have come to represent a major force in the anti-genocide constituency. This campaign offers you an exciting chance to continue to do so through STAND's fall campaign, A Call to Candidates.
