STANDFast 2008

Goal: Hold a STANDFast event to raise awareness throughout your campus and community and campus about the conflicts in Darfur and Burma, and fundraise for the Genocide Intervention Network’s civilian protection program.

How?: Check it out and check it off! Explore this list as well as STANDFast materials, tips, and resources to ensure a successful event!

Who?: Anyone you can engage can participate.

  • STAND chapter members
  • Members of related student groups (human rights groups, religious groups, community service groups, political groups, academic groups)
  • Members of non-related student groups (fraternities, sororities, sports teams)
  • Students from other area high schools and colleges (YOU could be the one to inspire them to start a STAND chapter)
  • Parents, families and friends (PTA, parents of STAND members, other parent groups)
  • Teachers, Professors, Alumni, Administrators, Community members (community groups, prominent leaders, religious leaders)
  • Elected officials and celebrities
  • Businesses

What?: Any event your chapter is interesting in holding! Some ideas include a break-the-fast meal, concert, speakers, screenings, plays, vigils, auctions, tabling, or sporting events. Mix and match to make the best event for your STAND chapter. Click here for more ideas.
