MONDAY
TXT the word “PROTECT” to 90999 to donate $5 to Genocide Intervention Network through your phone bill.
TUESDAY
Flavor Ice Sale outside of Front Office. We will be selling Amnesty T-shirts, Flavor Ice, and Pencils for the Pencil Project. The money raised from this sale will go to the organization Nothing But Nets. The nets cost $10 each and help prevent Malaria.
WEDNESDAY
Signing petition in support of The Global Child Survival Act before school. This legislation would invest in proven, low-cost, highly effective life-saving interventions such as immunizations, antibiotics, clean drinking water and vitamin supplements. We will send the petition to Congresswomen Lowey.
THURSDAY
Congo Poster Campaign. Edgemont students will line up on White Oak Lane holding posters about the crisis in the Democratic of Congo. There will be collection bins at the top of the hill for people that want to donate money. The money that is raised will be donated to the Enough Project.
FRIDAY
Amnesty/STAND members will wear their Amnesty T-Shirts. At lunch, members will continue to sell the Amnesty T-Shirts. We will also have change containers and ask people for their change that will then go towards relief efforts in Haiti.
