GSU STAND: A Student Anti-Genocide Coalition

GSU STAND: A Student Anti-Genocide Coalition was founded in Fall 2007 after overwhelmingly positive student feedback after a Darfur Information event on campus. Our efforts have included advocacy, education, and fundraising, and some of our most successful campaigns have been:

-->5 Days for Darfur--A week of educational events about Darfur and other conflicts related to genocide

-->Darfur Report Cards--Letter Writing Campaign

-->Dimes for Darfur--Collecting spare change in jars across campus and town

-->Get Up, STAND Up Benefit Concert--Charity concert held at the French Quarter Cafe; 10 hours of music for a good price and a good cause

We plan to continue our efforts this year with a dinner fund raiser, a voter registration/advocacy campaign, 5 Days for Darfur education and film festival, and a charity house party.

More details to come soon! Please check back regularly for updates.
