STAND Macedonia is a coalition of youth activists for peace. We are students in Prilep who collaborate with community and international leaders, in order to educate ourselves and members of our community about peace and genocide. STAND Macedonia provides education on ethnic tolerance, implements projects which support international justice, and raises awareness on human rights issues. STAND Macedonia looks forward to collaborating with STAND chapters around the world.

STAND Macedonia has begun corresponding with their Jahalin Bedouin peers, in order to learn more about culture, peace and war, and the lives of young people in other parts of the world.

We are the Jahalin children from Palestine and our names are Shadea, Kahwla, Amani, Hanan, Iman, Zeinab, Rahma, Thuraya and Maryam.
We would like to learn about people from other parts of the world. Especially about language, traditions, culture, religion and the way of life.

News StoryFeb 23, 2009Posted by:STAND Macedonia successfully launched their first benefit concert in Prilep, on November 9th, 2008! Awareness was raised on the pressing issue of genocide, while bands Vitamin Cis and Toxic performed peace-related songs. Over one hundred people came to support STAND, to celebrate peace and to donate to the cause.

On Saturday, February 21st, 2009, the three head members of STAND Macedonia's executive board participated in their first debate competition as a newly formed team. These competitions take place regularly against teams of high schoolers across Macedonia, on various topics and in English, coordinated by Peace Corps volunteers.

STAND Macedonia Elections were officially held in Prilep on Friday, October 4, 2008. STAND Macedonia’s founding members were present alongside the official Board of Advisers. Three motivated members were elected into leadership positions: President, Vice President, and Human Resources Manager. Positions still available include Treasurer and External Relations Manager.
Hristijan Stambolgiev is now President of STAND Macedonia, Elena Angeleska the Vice President, and Alexander Stambolgiev our newest Human Resources manager.
