Believe it or not, there is a whole other world outside the halls of your school: your community. These communities are filled with opportunities that will allow you to take your anti-genocide activism to the next level and beyond. Communities offer vast resources beyond what our schools can offer! Furthermore, as strong as the student anti-genocide movement is, the overall anti-genocide movement would strengthen exponentially with increased cooperation between student and community groups. STAND encourages your chapter to begin working with your community members to increase both the strength and number of resources available to you and the strength and number of the anti-genocide movement. By making connections outside of the confines of your school, you can take your anti-genocide activism to where you never thought it possible before!
STAND’s Community Outreach Coordinator, Sabina Carlson, is here to help you interact positively and productively with your communities. STAND can provide you with resources, tools, advice, connections, and ideas on how to expand your efforts into your communities! So simply e-mail scarlson@standnow.org with any questions, concerns, or comments and take the bold next step off your campuses and into your communities.
