NICC STAND Hosts Hotel Rwanda Screening

On October 15th NICC STAND, a student anti-genocide coalition, will host a screening of the film Hotel Rwanda starring Don Cheadle, Sophie Okonedo, Nick Nolte, and Joaquin Phoenix. The event will be held in room 236C on the Peosta campus and will begin at 11:30 a.m. with an introduction by NICC STAND V.P. Christina Holmes. Faculty member, and STAND adviser, Carmen Hernandez will close out the event after the film which has a running time of approximately 122 minutes. An information table will be available for students and faculty to learn more about genocide, current events in the Darfur region of Sudan, and STAND. Feel free to stop in for part of the film if you cannot view the entire thing.
