STANDFast at NICC

STANDFast 2008

What would you give up to save a life?

Thousands of participants across the country will join together in solidarity for the people of Darfur and Burma by pledging to give up one luxury item for the day. They can then make a donation to a program protecting civilians in Darfur and Burma.

STAND: the student division of the Genocide Intervention Network, and more than 700 chapters nationwide, invite you to join us in support of STANDFast!

You may think “What can I do, I’m only a student.” As students, you can have a hand in helping end genocide. On December 3rd from 10:00 AM until 1:00pm in the Peosta Campus cafeteria NICC STAND will be hosting STANDFast.

You can help us protect civilians in Darfur and Burma:
$3 allows a woman in Darfur to safely collect firewood for a week
$5 enables urgent warnings of an attack to reach villages in Eastern Burma

During this event we are also collecting the handprints of all participants. Students and faculty can trace their hands, decorate them, and write messages to refugees from Darfur and Burma as a symbol of our campus standing up for people affected by world violence.

Stop by and make a difference!

If you're unable to attend our event you can still donate by following the link below:
