Movie screening of "Darfur Now" held at the Pinewood School theater. Admission is $5. Food is provided for a small fee. All donations go to Engineers Without Borders for their $20 fuel-efficient cookstoves which go to Darfur. Letter-writing and petition booth in the back of the theater.

"Sand and Sorrow" Movie Screening

Movie screening of the documentary "Sand and Sorrow" narrated by George Clooney to give an insight about the ongoing genocide in Darfur and encourage people to take action. Paul Freedman, the director, writer, producer and editor of the documentary will be there to answer our questions after the film. It will starts at 8pm, and the Q&A session will be around 9:30pm.

The STAND Chapter at ETSU will show a series of Films that relate to the Atrocities going on in Darfur and the surround areas, during the second week of April the 6th-13th. To start the week off on the 6th of April, On the Anniversary of the Rwandan Genocide we will show Hotel Rwanda. Some other films are: On Tuesday the 8th screen the HBO premiere of The Greatest Silence: The Rape in the Congo, On Thursday the 10th show The Devil Came On Horseback, On Friday the 11th show Sand and Sorrow, AND Possibly on Saturday the 12th show War Dance. UVM STAND: Screening of documentary "Darfur Now" UVM STAND (Students Taking Action Now: Darfur) will be kicking off its April Month of Action with a screening of the documentary Darfur Now followed by a short discussion held by Sudanese students Atem Deng and Achier Mou. This free event will take place on Tuesday, April 1st in the Silver Maple Ballroom (4th Floor of the Davis Center) from 8pm-10pm, and will be open to all. DARFUR NOW is a story of hope in the midst of one of humanity's darkest hours—a call to action for people everywhere to end the catastrophe unfolding in Darfur, Sudan. In this documentary, written and directed by fellow Vermonter Ted Braun, the struggles and achievements of six different individuals from inside Darfur and around the world bring to light the tragedy in Sudan and show how the actions of one person can make a difference to millions.
