During the week of April 6-April 13, activists will unite throughout the country in a Global Week of Action for Darfur to call on President Bush to SEAL a legacy of peace in Sudan.

April 6th
Anniversary of Rwandan Genocide. This day commemorates the beginning of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. President Bill Clinton has stated publicly that he regrets his inaction in the face of genocide. We must ensure that President Bush leaves a more positive legacy, one of peace, for the people of Sudan. Hold a vigil or another local event to commemorate this anniversery and kick off your week of action
April 8th- The Greatest Silence: Rape in the Congo
10:00 p.m. (EST)

Join activists and viewers across the country to watch the HBO premiere of The Greatest Silence: Rape in the Congo, a shocking exposé of a decade-old epidemic of kidnapping, rape and torture of women and girls in the civil war-torn Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). ENOUGH, STAND and Campus Progress have teamed up to coordinate and organize home screenings across the U.S. to view and discuss the film together. Holding a screening of the film is a great, informal way to gather friends, family, co-workers, students and neighbors together to foster discussion and community around an important issue. Just call 1-866-682-6100 at 9:30 PM EDT on Wednesday and ask to be placed in "The Greatest Silence" conference call.

April 9th - San Francisco, CA
Mobilize on the West Coast and Talk to the Experts! Unite with thousands of activists in San Francisco on April 9 as the Olympic Torch passes through in its only stop in the United States and demand that President Bush Lobby China as he prepares to attend the Olympic games.
