On February 23rd 2010, Tom Van Dyke was flown into Oklahoma from Greensboro to speak to the campus about the genocide in Burma. Tom Van Dyke is the Executive Director of Heroes Serving Humanity. Heroes Serving Humanity(HSH) provides training to indigenous volunteers in first aid, basic medical care, landmine removal and other skills needed to prepare relief team workers. By training local volunteers, HSH builds the capacity of the local population to respond to humanitarian disasters.

A new event as allowed to realyze a new international association for made applied the Justice after the genocide of the Tutsis in Rwanda.

And an important article about Serge Farnel's movies had been published in the Wall Street Journal.

STAND at Queens College is proud to announce the commencement of our Green Basket Project, a food pantry open to community members and students in need, to be located in our school's Dining Hall (near the music building) every Saturday between 12 and 3 pm.

We are receiving generous donations from Panera Bread and Trader Joe's, and are looking for more donors (particularly in terms of produce)!

Student volunteers are also welcomed!

We are looking to have a HUGE fundraiser in Chicago for STAND. Any school in the Chicago area can take part in helping and planning the dance. We are just now looking for other schools in Chicago that would like to be involved with this dance. It doesn't have to be a dance, we are just looking to involve other Chicago schools and get the STAND community in Chicago to come out to spread awareness and raise some money!
