STAND Managing/Outreach Committee Application for 2008-2009

Thank you for considering to apply to be a Coordinator on one of STAND's 2008-2009 Management or Outreach Committees.

About STAND: STAND: A Student Anti-Genocide Coalition is a student movement made up of over 1,000 college and high school campuses across the United States. STAND envisions a world without genocide. In working towards this goal, STAND's mission is to educate, provide resources for, and unite the student anti-genocide movement. STAND is the student division of the Genocide Intervention Network, which is working to build a permanent anti-genocide constituency to stop genocide and mass atrocities.

About the Positions: STAND Committee Coordinators work as a cohesive national leadership group to plan, promote, and carry out national and international student efforts to empower students to end genocide whenever and wherever it may occur.

In Addition to position-specific responsibilities, ALL MC members will be expected to: * -Devote 20 hours per week to their respective STAND committee; * -Arrange your schedule around mandatory weekly conference calls with your committee; * -Manage your own time and other obligations (including obligations to your local stand chapter) in order to meet these time commitments; * -Fulfill all projects, assignments, and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner and in coordination with other appropriate members; * -Be accountable to and maintain regular contact with STAND/Genocide Intervention Staff members; * -Communicate regularly, accurately, and transparently with your Task Force members; * -Hold your fellow colleagues accountable and expect to be held accountable by them; * -Be motivated by a genuine passion for human rights and ending genocide worldwide.
